The Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2016 witnessed vehicle launches and unveilings from 14 upbeat manufacturers. Inaugurating the Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2016, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri Anant Geete at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida called for greater cooperation between the auto industry and the Government to strengthen the growth of the sector.
Scania launched biofuel powered citywide bus and the premium Scania G310 truck. JBM and Solaris unveiled India’s first 100% electric bus, ‘Ecolife’. Mahindra showcased its wide range of mobility solutions which included the XUV Aero. Mahindra also displayed the Tivoli, SsangYong’s best seller model. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India launched the all new Punto Pure. Fiat also showcased the Linea 125s and the Avventura Urban Cross. Yamaha launched the all-new Roadster Motard – Yamaha MT-09.
The post-inauguration session saw the launch of concept IGNIS and concept Baleno RS by Maruti Suzuki India. Triumph launched the next generation of Triumph Bonneville motorcycles. Atul Auto launched the long-awaited CNG vehicle ‘Atul Gemini’. Tata Motors launched its new Signa range of commercial vehicles. Toyota Kirloskar Motor unveiled the “Toyota Connect”, telematics services for India. Renault India revealed the New Renault Duster. Indian motorcycles and Polaris showcased the Blue-Diamond Indian and Indian Chief Classic. Lohia unveiled the path-breaking range of electric vehicles.
In the second half of the day, SIAM unveiled the mascot for the Anti-counterfeiting campaign – Be Genuine, Buy Genuine, ‘Asliman’. SIAM has been an advocate of genuine spare-parts for the vehicles.
The day saw the participation of John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee, Gul Panag, Sachin Tendulkar and Piyush Chawla among the stars to brighten the day for the audience. John Abraham was announced the new brand ambassador of Nissan.
