The Board of Directors at Hero MotoCorp Ltd, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has reappointed Mr. Pawan Munjal as the Chairman, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Company for a period of five years with effect from 1st of October, 2016. His current tenure comes to an end on 30th of September 2016.
Over the past several years, Mr. Pawan Munjal has led Hero MotoCorp in a highly competitive and volatile market, to not just consolidate its market leadership, but also expand its global footprint across continents, in the process emerging as one of India’s foremost business leaders.
In a strategic initiative aimed at consolidation of its leadership at home, and acceleration in global expansion, Hero MotoCorp has also further strengthened its Senior Leadership Team.
As part of this move, Mr. Vikram Kasbekar – Head of Operations & Supply Chain – has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Hero MotoCorp.
Hero MotoCorp has also appointed Ms Neerja Sharma as the Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer.

Vikram Kasbekar brings more than four decades of experience in the field of Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Project Engineering. He has been with Hero for close to 14 years in two stints and has contributed significantly to the growth of the organization.
In his enhanced role, Vikram will continue to focus on manufacturing excellence with an additional emphasis on risk mitigation, operational cost management and compliance and strategic focus on global operations strategy.
Neerja Sharma has over 25 years of experience in governance and compliance as a part of senior leadership teams. Before joining Hero MotoCorp she was working with Cairn India Ltd. as Director – Assurance, Communications and Company Secretary since June 2008. Prior to that, she worked with Fortis Healthcare and Ballarpur Industries. She has worked closely with the Boards of the respective Companies on various strategic issues, and dealt with internal and external stakeholders in India and in several other countries, including UK, Australia and Netherlands.
At Hero MotoCorp, Neerja will work on ensuring the highest standards of ethics and transparency in corporate governance and work closely with the Board of Directors, the Hero leadership team, external stakeholders, shareholders, and regulatory bodies. She will guide the team in the Secretarial function to address all the priorities and challenges and immensely enhance capabilities.
Consequent to Mr. Kasbekar’s elevation to the Board of Directors, Mr. Neeraj Mathur, Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain will now report directly to the CMD & CEO.
Mr. Mathur has been instrumental in setting up a systematic Supply Chain Improvement program at Hero MotoCorp. He has been a true mentor to Hero’s supply chain partners and ancillaries, helping them enhance their functional capabilities and stitching together a very healthy eco system for future business growth.
