Bengaluru, 17th December 2020: Hero Electric, India’s Largest Electric two-wheeler company recently partnered with the prestigious Tour of Karnataka for its 6th Edition. The flagship event is organised by Cadence90, the bicycle experience centre based out of Bangalore, that extends services that include Custom Tours, Bicycle Rentals, and Custom Bike Builds. The Tour of Karnataka is a strenuous cycling tour across some of the most picturesque locations and breathtakingly scenic routes in Karnataka. Its previous editions saw some incredible riders who cycled across pristine villages and coastal highways
The 4-day cycling tour began on the 24th of November 2020, during the course of which 37 riders pedalled for approximately 465 km in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. The tour was gruelling, beginning at 6:30 am every day, and continuing through to 6 PM. The 6th edition this year was the toughest as the riders faced challenging routes starting from Hassan, via Chikmagalur, Kalasa, Udupi, ending with Kodachadri, the 13th highest mountain peak in Karnataka. The routes were laden with daunting climbs as high as 1819 m, rainforests, and unpredictable countryside in the remote interiors.
This year’s TOK participants included Vivek Anand PS, Founder & MD of OAKS Asset Management, Vishnu Bhat, Founder & Chairman of Blue Neem Medical Devices; Satish Addanki, Founder of Ridepositive.com and a hardcore cyclist who has cycled across the globe; and Vishal Rajani, Founder & CEO of Synergos, a leading Digital Marketing Agency in Bangalore. Speaking on associating with the event, Mr. Naveen Munjal, MD, Hero Electric said, “The Tour of Karnataka is an event that caught my attention since the time I heard of it. For someone who comes from a family that made cycles all through our lives, it was only obvious that Hero Electric partnered with them. At Hero Electric, we have always encouraged taking means of transport that are cleaner and greener. Partnering with TOK gives us an opportunity to connect with those who share the same passion and vision. We are also extremely pleased to handover a brand-new Hero Electric Optima HX to Mr. Niranjan Rao for upholding the “Spirit of TOK”. We look forward to taking this forward next year too.”
Tour of Karnataka (TOK) is one of the most sought-after annual events in the state that takes place every November. TOK began with a group of friends – all of them from different walks of life but connected by their passion for Cycling and an affliction with Wanderlust. The passion and affliction, eventually, metamorphosed into a cycling event which first took place in 2015. With every passing year, the event grows bigger and better drawing some of the most affluent and notable people from all over India. TOK is not just about cycling, it is about making friends, seeing new places, meeting new people and having fun, says Chethan Ram the founder of Cadence90 and Tour of Karnataka.
