For 2nd consecutive month, Honda is the No.1 volume gainer and market share gainer of Two Wheeler industry. Honda alone contributes 50% to total industry growth, adds 69,191 unit sales in may 2016 on YoY basis. Also Honda two wheelers is the only two wheeler company to increase market share by 2% points.
Honda two wheelers grew over 2 times faster than industry. i.e. total sales grow 19% to reach 436,358 units in May, 2016. Domestic sales grew 18% to 415,902 units in May 2016, which is the highest after festival sales in October, 2015. Company exports grew at a robust 48% and cross 20,000 mark (20,456 units in May 2016).
Led by Activa, automatic scooter sales grew a stellar 25% to 268,423 units in May 2016. Motorcycle sales continue to grow and reach 147.479 units in May 2016.
The company recently introduced the 2016 editions of the Dio and Activa-I with new colours & upgrades and inaugurated 5 Best Deal outlets in Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Karimnagar, and Nandyal. And now with the new additions the total count of Best Deal outlets is 89 across India.
