Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India.
“At Volvo Cars, we always aim to provide the most efficient and environment friendly cars across the world. All our models, including ones available in India, comply with the most stringent global emission norms which is the EURO 6 standard. From the entry level V40 to the latest 7-seater Luxury SUV XC90 is available in India under 2L engines, In fact the XC90 is the only full-sized Luxury SUV that is available in sub 2L engine. We have taken the lead to further clean the air inside by having a state-of-the-art CleanZone Air filer technology that restricts harmful PM2.5 & PM10 from entering our car’s cabins and outside our vehicles by installing Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) which again reduces emission of PM2.5 & PM10 by upto 99%. Volvo Cars was the first car company to make DPF standard across the diesel offerings way back in 2007.
Our sub 2L engines have an unrivalled combination of power and efficiency. Volvo Cars is a pioneer in the field of plug-in hybrid powertrain development. We now have some of the least CO2 emissions among all luxury car brands in the world.”
