This is the first time in 11 years that the INRC is being held in the North. Yokohama has been a part of Motorsport activities since 2007. The company has achieved Podium finishes in all the rallies wherever it has participated along with achieving various victories earlier in Himalayan car rally too”.
Approximately 40 vehicles participated in this stage of the rally. This rally was a dirt/gravel event and special stage1 (SS1) and Stage 8(SS8) were en route to Kundli-Palwal Expressway. FMSCI Titles include INRC, INRC 2000, IRC, FMSCI Cup and the GYPSY Cup
The overall size promoted for the event was 185/65 R15 88Q A035 and 185/60 R15 84Q A035.
“Majority of rally drivers prefer using the Yokohama rally tyre only because of their durability and unmatched performance. In these rallies, a car’s endurance is tested to the limits and the tyre being the only point of ground contact for the car is tested beyond its ultimate strength” Mr Chatterjee further added.
Yokohama in India has been part of major Motorsports activities since 2007. While it has won the Himalayan car Rallies for three consecutive years, 2009, 2010 & 2011, the Team Yokohama was winner in the IRC 2000cc and 1600 cc categories in the Year 2015.
Over the years Yokohama has become synonymous to global Motorsports. Currently Yokohama has been the sole official tyre supplier to FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) since 2006.
Globally other than replacement tyres business, Yokohama tyres are original equipment suppliers to many top of the line car manufacturers like Audi, Honda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Suzuki and Toyota.
